Bay of Island's Swordfish Club

Bar and bistro facilities normally open from 4pm, close to the wharf. Part of an otherwise private club and notable for the many fishing trophies and memorabilia on display.

Sugarboat Cocktail Bar and Restaurant

Dining room and open air bar on a moored sailing vessel originally used to transport sugar. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean and New Zealand flavours.

Tides Restaurant

Restaurant open all day and a short walk from Paihia wharf. Menu strong on seafood, pasta and Mediterranean influences.

Twin Pines Restaurant and Bar

Located in Haruru Falls, down the road from Paihia, the restaurant is an old mansion house transported from its original Auckland site. Has a strong selection of New Zealand wines and seasonal menus. Also brews its own beer.

Waikokopu Cafe

Offers snacks and meals until the early evening in a shady garden setting, at the entrance to the famous Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
